Types of "Scientific Works"

Four types of scientific papers are accepted: Clinical trial (scientific article), systematic review, bibliographic review and clinical case.

In any case, it is advisable and encouraged that students pursue the first option: clinical trial, or at most the second: systematic review, for higher quality and higher options in final grading.

The SEFO website offers scientific articles, free registration to view thesis works, steps in the methodology of scientific research, protocols and research lines, among other things.

We recommend them while drawing up your scientific project.

The Scientific European Federation of Osteopaths (SEFO), is a unit of research, development and innovation of the EOM. This Unit is made up of professionals both internal and external to the EOM itself, with full training in the osteopathic, medical, epidemiological and statistical fields.

The students will receive training in research methodology from the first to the fourth years by means of Video-Courses and personalized advice from the Scientific Advice Center of the EOM.

The scientific project should be done and sent to the Scientific Advisory of the EOM in the forms or templates available for this purpose. You can find them in the EOM Virtual Classroom, which also provides you with a summary of the EOM Standards for your future scientific project, so that you have information about delivery times and the complete process for its design, elaboration and delivery.

The best strategy is for students to present their scientific project at the end of the 4th year. In this manner, they will be able to face the 5th year more confidently.

The maximum deadline for submitting your scientific project in time is January 31st of the year in which you are studying the 5th year course.

The students of the 5th year who do not present their project before that date, may do so later, always taking into account that they will not be able to obtain the DO degree until they have submitted their research project and it has been approved by the scientific advisory center.
